Empress Stah is an internationally renowned circus cabaret performer. In 2003 she received a Jerwood Circus Award, a top national prize, for her solo show ‘Swinging from the Chandelier’. The award was presented by the Minister for the Arts and the show performed at The Circus Space, London’s premier circus facility, in April 2004. It sold out all 3 nights. TRAPEZE ARTIST An accomplished aerialist, Stah will amaze any audience from a sophisticated lounge crowd to ‘mad and up for it’ clubbers. She can perform on a Swinging or Static Trapeze, Web rope or Pink Sling. Her dazzling array of costumes include a 1920’s Style Diamante Encrusted Flesh Body Stocking, Burlesque Nipple Tassels, High Heels, Frilly Knickers, Vegas Showgirl Feather Bikini, and a Slick Rubber Catsuit. THE CHANDELIER This opulent Chandelier is hand crafted from stainless steel. Standing 1.5m high and 2m in diameter, it has 18 arms with fully operational light fixtures. Rigging points at its base are designed to accommodate a Trapeze, Rope, or Sling. Purpose built it packs into a flight case for touring. STATIC TRAPEZE A classic, sexy and graceful performance. This act requires two rigging points 2 foot apart and an additional point for a climb up rope. Min. height 6m. SWINGING TRAPEZE Gliding high above the ground this dynamic act is death defying. Using a safety line attached to the bar, spectacular tricks are performed on the trapeze. The finally is a bag of glitter sprinkled on the crowd below. This act requires two rigging points 2 foot apart and an additional point for a climb up rope. Min. height 8m. SINGLE SLING This act is a breathtaking solo display of acrobatic agility, strength and daring. The act requires a single rigging point for the sling and an additional point for the climb up rope. Min. height 4m. DOUBLE SLING Specially conceived for venues with a low ceiling. The slings are covered in Pink Suede with Ruffles and a Matching Costume It involves two short slings and a series of pulleys. Min. height 3m. It requires a second person to operate the pulley system. WEB ROPE This act requires 2 people and involves 1 performer (Stah) suspended from a hand/foot loop at the top of a rope while the 2nd performer, on the ground, spins the ropes tail, causing me to spin dynamically on a horizontal and vertical axis. FLUROSCENT SPLODGES These two alien characters are suspended on harnesses by wires. Creating bizarre shapes by Somersaulting forwards and backwards, they appear to float, as the UV light makes the wires invisible. The act requires a single rigging point. Min. height 7m General Information Each act can be performed to the performers own music or music chosen by the client. Shows may vary in length between 5 – 20 mins. A variety of costumes and musical styles are available. All rigging points require a minimum safe working load of 500kg. (Except for the Chandelier). All heights, weights, and dimensions are intended as a guide only. All rigging is supplied and installed by Empress Stah or a rigger chosen or agreed by Empress Stah. A risk assessment can be provided upon request. Public Liability Insurance to the value of £5,000,000 is provided. Empress Stah is a member of Equity UK.
